She has released her Debut self entitled album and her first single "Tattoo". Its a great song! Jordin also performed in New York City at the New years eve festivities to welcome in 2008! We love you Jordin!

American Idol's Season 5 stars are topping the Charts and selling records like crazy! Taylor Hicks single "Do I make you proud" is #3 in single sales and Katherine McPhee's single "Over the Rainbow" is #4.

Elliot Yamin is releasing his first single "The Storm" a song he co-wrote. The single is set to release late August, Keep your eyes open! He recently is blowing up the charts with his single "Wait for you" and he performed on American Idol season 6!
Chris Daughtry's Band "Daughtry" is doing amazing, they have released tons of amazing singles including "Home" , "Its not over" and "over you".
Kellie Pickler signed with RBA records one week after Chris got his record deal. Kellies Album was released in November entitled "Small town Girl" and her first single was " Red High Heels". Paris Bennett "Princess P" is also expected to release her own Album later this year, 2007!

Anyone remember the guy with the awesome voice in season four that suddenly withdrew from the competition? There was tons a speculation that Mario Vazquez had received a record deal and decided to leave the show to pursue it. We'll looks like the rumors were true becuase Mario has got a single out entitled "Gallery" and its a huge hit! Good for you Mario!!!

Chart Toppers

Not only does Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee have chart topping hits but Fellow American Idol Carrie Underwood is doing well with her Album. Carrie Underwood is proving to be one of the most successful Idols ever, her album is selling like hot cakes and she is taking home award after award. Her single "Some Hearts" is at #4 on country music charts and her album is selling rapidly. Ruben Studdard also has singles making appearances on the R&B charts with his single "Change Me" at #49 on the charts. Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson has proved her self to be quite a star with her most recent single (among many), "Because of you" is sitting strongly at #6 on pop music charts!

American Idol History

American Idol is a television show on the Fox Network, based on the popular British show Pop Idol. Season 6 of American Idol is underway with auditions all over the US. After five seasons, American Idol is more popular than ever. The music on American Idol is often very good, and American Idol is good for popular music.

Trying out for American Idol is more than standing in line and singing for a judge, its a very difficult and rigorous event. Once you've made it to Hollywood, the hard work doesnt stop there, there are several more elimination rounds before you even make the actual televised competition starting with the top 24. It is narrowed down everyweek until one idol is left standing. The Top 12 reunite on the Kodak Theatre stage one last time before the newest American Idol is crowned. The hour finale of American Idol is FOX's 2nd highest rated entertainment telecast ever across key measures. Simon has consistently yelled, insisted, and insured that American Idol is about finding a POP Idol. The amazing thing about American Idol is that it gets tens of millions of people to watch it two months before it really starts. American Idol is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and judged by Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and singer Paula Abdul. Contestants and viewers alike praise Abdul's positive feedback on AMERICAN IDOL.

In season one Kelly Clarkson defeated runner up Justin Guarini. The finalists for AI2 were Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken with Ruben being named American Idol. Season 3's top two were Fanasia Burrino and Diana DeGarmo, Fantasia taking the crown. Season 4 was down to Bo Bice and Winner Carrie Underwood. Season 5 came down to Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee. In season 6 it was Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis with Jordin taking the crown. In what has become a sort of tradition, the top 10 finalists from American Idol season following the wrap of the show go on a summer North American tour. We can only begin to imagine who and what season 7 will bring us this year!
